Educating Adventures have been organising school trips to Orlando, Florida for more than 10 years.

In Orlando your students can either take part in NASA's Camp KSC International where they will simulate life on mars including a botany lab in Mars Base 1 and train at Kennedy’s brand new Astronaut Training Center, or take part in a 3 or 5 day robotics program with Space Trek where you’ll design and program robots culminating in a Mars Surface Mission.

The amazing exhibits and inspiring shows at the Kennedy Space Center among other activities will immerse students into the science and history behind space exploration giving context to your STEM classroom learning.

Orlando also offers rich performing arts and museum scenes; several fantastic nature preserves; fabulous cuisine and top theme parks for schools. DAY 1 - TRAVEL DAY
Depart your nearest international airport and fly to Orlando.


DAY 2 - ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE
A day at Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park.

DAY 3 - KENNEDY SPACE CENTRE AND LUNCH WITH AN ASTRONAUT
See NASA’s headquarters at the Kennedy Space Centre. Tour the campus, see the rocket gardens and learn about the history of space exploration. Then have lunch with a former NASA Astronaut, and hear about what living in space is truly like from those who have experienced it first-hand.

What to expect on your trip to Orlando

Experience space travel without leaving the planet and participate in the most realistic simulations on earth at the Kennedy Space Camp in Orlando. Students will receive hands-on training from experienced educators and meet a veteran NASA Astronaut. Other activities on offer include a backstage visit to Universal Studios theme park, a free-fall workshop at i-Fly, and an exhilarating airboat ride through the Florida Everglades. Expect to leave having tried new learning experiences, with students more prepared for entering STEM jobs in the future.

I-Fly freefall and physics

Physics and freefall workshop at the I-Fly wind tunnel. Enjoy a 40-minute lecture taught by an accredited physics professor on the physics of freefall and the technology behind the wind tunnel, followed by a question and answer session. Everyone will leave this class educated and exhilarated after experiencing a one minute freefall in a state-of-the-art vertical wind tunnel - with wind speeds of 130 to 175+ mph!

Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure

Students will go behind the scenes, beyond the screen, and jump right into the action of their favourite movies at Universal Studios, the world's premier movie and TV based theme park. The motto of Universal Studios is ‘ride the movies,’ and that’s definitely what students will be doing! With great rollercoasters, shows and characters filling the park fun is certainly on the agenda!

General Admission KSC

View ten-story high rockets from all eras of space exploration and walk through a full-size space shuttle mock-up. See a 3D-IMAX space film on a gigantic five-story screen, and witness an actual Gemini program capsule on display. Some recent additions to the Center now include the Space Shuttle Atlantis and The Hubble Telescope exhibit. Students also get a behind the scenes glimpse of Kennedy Space Centre on a NASA Bus Tour to the LC-39 Observation Gantry and the Apollo/Saturn V Center! The amazing exhibits and inspiring shows will immerse students into the science and history behind space exploration.
