What to expect on your trip to Orlando

Experience space travel without leaving the planet and participate in the most realistic simulations on earth at the Kennedy Space Camp in Orlando. Students will receive hands-on training from experienced educators and meet a veteran NASA Astronaut. Other activities on offer include a backstage visit to Universal Studios theme park, a free-fall workshop at i-Fly, and an exhilarating airboat ride through the Florida Everglades. Expect to leave having tried new learning experiences, with students more prepared for entering STEM jobs in the future.

Trip activities

General Admission KSC

View ten-story high rockets from all eras of space exploration and walk through a full-size space shuttle mock-up. See a 3D-IMAX space film on a gigantic five-story screen, and witness an actual Gemini program capsule on display. Some recent additions to the Center now include the Space Shuttle Atlantis and The Hubble Telescope exhibit. Students also get a behind the scenes glimpse of Kennedy Space Centre on a NASA Bus Tour to the LC-39 Observation Gantry and the Apollo/Saturn V Center! The amazing exhibits and inspiring shows will immerse students into the science and history behind space exploration.

I-Fly freefall and physics

Physics and freefall workshop at the I-Fly wind tunnel. Enjoy a 40-minute lecture taught by an accredited physics professor on the physics of freefall and the technology behind the wind tunnel, followed by a question and answer session. Everyone will leave this class educated and exhilarated after experiencing a one minute freefall in a state-of-the-art vertical wind tunnel - with wind speeds of 130 to 175+ mph!

Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure

Students will go behind the scenes, beyond the screen, and jump right into the action of their favourite movies at Universal Studios, the world's premier movie and TV based theme park. The motto of Universal Studios is ‘ride the movies,’ and that’s definitely what students will be doing! With great rollercoasters, shows and characters filling the park fun is certainly on the agenda!
