China Business

Where ancient traditions, modern culture, and one of the largest economies in the world create a country with unlimited learning opportunities.

Discover ancient Chinese traditions and expose students to modern business in one of the world's largest financial centres.

A business and culture trip to China will expose students to a new culture, help them improve their business knowledge and encourage them to hone their entrepreneurial skills.

On this trip, your school will visit 2 - 3 China-based companies where you will have the opportunity to attend Q&A sessions and presentations. The companies we select include a Chinese Crowdfunding Company, an online education company, a manufacturing powerhouse, and a leading startup incubator. We can select different types of companies based on your curriculum.

As the world’s largest exporter, China has a huge influence on business, industry and current affairs. It is important for students to understand how politics and international relations play a part in today's globalised world.

What to expect on a Business school trip to China

On a school trip to China, you can expect students to practice their Mandarin, grow in global citizenship, as well as learn more about China’s role in the global economy. Your students will better understand China's ancient traditions and how they influence modern living. You will also get to sample traditional cuisine and be mesmerised by the dramatic scenery of China.

Trip activities

The Forbidden City

The Forbidden City is an imperial palace in the centre of Beijing. Some consider it the heart of the capital as this well-preserved heritage site occupies 720,000 sq m of land and looks over Beijing. With 980 buildings and over 8000 rooms, the sheer scale of this magnificent masterpiece of Chinese architecture will amaze your students. The Palace Museum is home to the best collection of Chinese historical artefacts in the world. Even though the Palace is large enough for schools to spend over a day exploring, only 60% of the Forbidden City is open for public access.

Night cruise along the Bund in Shanghai

See both the old and modern Shanghai on a night cruise along the Bund. Shanghai is a global financial centre, particularly within the Asia-Pacific region. Its famous Lujiazui skyline is well known with significant buildings such as the Shanghai Tower, the Shanghai World Financial Centre and the Oriental Pearl Tower lining the sky. The Bund runs along the Huangpu River and travelling along it is a great way to see Shanghai's skyline at night.

The Great Wall of China

Although just a series of stone fortifications built along the historical northern borders of China, the Great Wall's history spans multiple dynasties, emperors and invasions. The majority of the existing wall is from the Ming Dynasty and is recognised today as being one of the most impressive architectural feats in history. Visit a section of the Great Wall with your students on a school tour in China. Hike on one of the 7 Wonders of the World - the view is worth the climb.
