“The best part of the trip for me was discovering the area around Queenstown and what it offered.  My particular highlight was improving my skiing technique and enjoying the whole ski culture again.  Educating Adventures provided the personal touch that made our trip easy and enjoyable with an extremely helpful and personable tour operator and I would definitely recommend them to friends and colleagues.  You were excellent Eryn!”

“Educating Adventures are extremely proactive and well organised, but maintain a laid back and relaxing feel to their tours. Down to earth and thoughtful in their approach they manage to cover all bases for teachers and pupils. A truly excellent company all round.”

Michael Parr, St Andrews C of E, UK

“A good balance between seeing how a school trip would work and having some independence and flexibility.
An efficiently organised week, from pre visit emails and itineraries through to a very fun busy week skiing – staff were fun, knowledgeable of the area, great skiers and even organised for the sun to shine – fab!”

Sarah Wood, Dulwich College, UK

“Educating Adventures were very responsive and able to produce a personalised itinerary to accommodate the needs of the combination of geography and psychology students who were taking part on the trip. It was definitely not an off the peg option but tailored to the requests of myself and other staff at the college.

We had a good mix of educational and leisure activities for the students and managed to cover a large amount of ground within the short period of time that we were there.

We were met at the airport and escorted during the whole trip, which took a weight off the teachers in organising such an adventurous trip. There was a great deal of information supplied by the company in terms of management policies, statements from schools who had undertaken previous trips. This gave us the confidence to use the company to arrange the trip for us.”

Mary Ellen Whalley, Yeovill College, United Kingdom
California, USA – Educational Trip Combining Geography and Psychology [February 2008]

“I have run a number of ski trips to Victoria and this trip surpassed them all. The help from EA was great and the guide they employed helped everything go smoothly, from helping out with flight changes and insurance claims for injured students to ski instruction for struggling students- he was invaluable. Skiing, snow and weather were excellent.  First day with fresh snow was great! I will definitely use EA again.”

Paul Lambert, Tatachilla Lutheran College, McLaren Vale, South Australia.

“A stress free learning environment was provided which enabled us to have a lot of fun which is key for educational development of young people. The reps were very professional.”

Marcia Allcock, Turnford College, UK
Lake Tahoe April 2009

“In February 2005, we organised a trip to New Zealand through Educating Adventures. We billed the trip as an opportunity of a lifetime and as the trip of all trips for our school. We were not disappointed. Their team organised a fantastic programme of educational and adventure activities that took in the whole of South Island. Every day was a new adventure with awe inspiring scenery from Lord of the Rings country to the Franz Joseph glacier. We regularly watch the video we made of the trip and wish we were there!

Students still talk about their experiences and some are even using them to deliver citizenship, geography and ICT lessons in our school as part of their leadership programmes. This certainly was a trip of a lifetime and one that has helped to enhance the name of our school for offering high quality extra curricular activity beyond the curriculum. ‘Extra-curricular activity and trips abroad including New Zealand are outstanding’ ” (Ofsted Review – 2005)

David Rowe – Deputy Headteacher and Head of PE,
The Hayesbrook School, Kent, United Kingdom [20th March 2006]

“In August 2005, we took part in an extremely well organised preview visit to Bariloche. This was my first skiing experience in South America and we were greeted with a week of fantastic conditions; dry chalky snow and sunny skies. The resort atmosphere, service and views were first class.

We finished our visit with a night in Buenos Aires. Educating Adventures hosted an impressive farewell ‘fiesta’ with plenty of ‘ Quilmes’, ‘Vino’ and Argentine steak! A special thanks to Jonny and Maria; you guys made our visit and I look forward to returning with our school.”

Ian Ashton – Ski Party Leader
Essex School , United Kingdom [28th August 2005]

“We flew into Queenstown with incredible views of New Zealand’s Southern Alps. The next day we could not have had better skiing conditions, beautiful sunshine, no cloud and warm temperatures combined with fresh snow! To top everything off, the New Zealand school holidays had not yet begun which meant we had the mountain to ourselves. The students were all buzzing from their ski lessons.

Our time in Queenstown after the ski week was a blast; Jet boating, Gondola ride, luge track and some even partook in the ‘Giant Swing’. The trip concluded with a trip through the heart of the Central South Island to Hamner Spring Natural Thermal Resort. Here the students soaked all their skiing aches away in the natural hot pools set under the snow covered mountains of Canterbury.

The last day for many was a highlight when we embarked on New Zealand’s famous ‘Kaikoura Whale watch Adventure”. On average the tour guide said you see 2 whales per trip. We were lucky however and encountered 6 giant sperm whales! We also ran into a pod of approximately 250 playful Dusky Dolphins who stayed for around half an hour, leaping about and riding our bow wave.

In all the trip cannot be explained in any other terms than spectacular. We are already lining up for next year. A massive thank you To Eryn Cutler at Educating Adventures and the students on the trip for making it an enormous success and an experience I shall never forget”.

Justin Creighton, Head of Physical Education,
Reddam House School, Sydney, Australia [25th August 2005]

“The Tahoe experience was one of my best ski trips ever. The Ski School was professional and nothing was a problem for them to organise – from ski hire to lesson provision. We loved the views of the sky blue lake surrounded by the golden sands. It is easy to understand why the resort is called Heavenly! From start to finish Educating Adventures put together a ski package than was second to none – fantastic accommodation at Lakeland Village and an excellent idea to eat at different restaurants each night.”

Chris Smith – Ski Party Leader
Nobel School, Stevenage United Kingdom [26th April 2005]

“This was the trip of a lifetime combining a comprehensive tour of New Zealand’s South Island with a variety of adventure type activities and terrific staff who were fun as well as being knowledgeable. Our three weeks were superbly organised and we had the privilege to see the real New Zealand and meet with many outback characters. We will certainly be going back next year.”
